Once you book your screening appointment, I will ask you to complete a detailed questionnaire, covering your medical history, any medication you may be taking, and asking questions about other risk factors, including your family history and current medical problems.
On the day of the screening, I will take a deep-dive, 30 minute consultation, going through your medical history, focussing on any specific concerns that you may have, in addition to delving deeper into your family history and reviewing your lifestyle habits.
This will consist of a detailed physical examination, starting with baseline tests including your blood pressure, pulse rate and rhythm and oxygen saturation. Detailed examination of your heart, lungs, central and peripheral nervous system, gastrointestinal system, skin and breast examination.
Comprehensive blood testing including a full blood count, kidney function, liver function, thyroid function, diabetes testing, detailed cholesterol analysis, Vitamin D levels, b12, folate and Iron levels. Your urine will be analysed for blood and glucose. An ECG for electrical abnormalities of the heart.
After your detailed testing, a follow up appointment (either face-to-face or via the telephone depending on your preference) will be arranged to discuss all your results and develop and personalized care plan for you. A full detailed report with results and recommendations will then be provided to you either via post or email. If there are any findings that require follow up, you will be guided as to what is needed and a copy also sent to your general practitioner.
